10-Students' Evaluation

Students' Evaluation

  • In this project we experienced a different side of democracy. Now, I know that democracy is not only a regime or a system. It is about communion and deal with a situation in different perspectives. We all have so many opinions, so many rights and wrongs and we can only get the best result by combining that opinions. We learned that with the forums where we shared our opinions and discussed about them. When we decide about our logo, we all voted and it helped us apply a part of democracy. As we learn, we had so much fun and improved our computer skills.
Mira METİN - Turkish Student - Atatürk Anatolian High School, Group:1, Teacher: Fatma BOZTEPE
In this eTwinning project we learned what democracy should be, and what it is now. We learned that it is not a simple topic, we asked people what do they think democracy is and are we living in a democratic country. We voted on the project logos with the other students. We learned about people's rights. We showed what democracy is in photos. We talked about democracy's effect on equality. This project helped improve my english. I met with people from around the globe.
Tolga KAVUNCU - Turkish Student -  Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School, Group 1, Teacher : Fatma BOZTEPE
Knowing what democracy really is, is the biggest step to be democratic. And in this project, by doing all of those exercises with our friends and partners from other countries, we’ve learnt the meaning and how to be democratic well. Also, by doing them; I’ve gained experience and improved my English.
Zeynep İsmihan Avşar, Turkish Student, Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School - Group 1; Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
with this project, i understand that democracy is an important concept. with this, i can learn about other people’s view on democracy. we write essays about democracy, and we debate about them. I feel like i have more opinion about democracy. I improved my English and I improved my ability to use computer. I am very happy to be in the project like this.
Zeynep Serra Akkaya -Turkish Student- Besiktas Ataturk Anatolian High School, Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe.
I have now a new and better point of view about democracy. I learnt that democracy is more important than it looks. People should become conscious about this topic and especially teachers should do a lot of things to teach their students. In this project we discussed democratically, using forums and other web sites. We used computers and it is really good for all of us. I am happy to be in this project.
Gizem Gümüşışık - Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
This project taught us a lot about democracy and its unavoidable effect in our lives. I had been moderator in the recent forums and I would like to indicate being moderator is one of the pure samples of democracy, giving everyone same speaking time and much more. We have learned using new communication tools and I am sure I will use them in rest of my life.
Kerem Gür - Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
the things ı learned from this project are so worthy for me and my social ideas had changed a lot in this project.becouse project thaught me what the real democracy is and how precious it is.ı now can see why we need democracy in our life.ın this project we also learned how to listen to each other and give values to each other s ideas.
Bedirhan Efe Akkuş - Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
This project showed me how valuable democracy was. Seeing the world with different perspectives had been life-changing for me. I’ve learned how to have emphaty and understand others. This project made me more mature about conflicts and how to solve them. I’m grateful for this opportunity.
-Begüm Kayaalp- Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
In this project, we learned what people think about democracy and what democracy really is. We discussed what can we do to improve the democracy in forums. We saw the perception of the people from different countries and environments. Apart from these we learned how to use web tools to make great videos. It was nice to be a part of this project.

  • In this project, I’ve learned a lot of information about democracy, I got new friends, I learned to use technological programs. Due to that, it has helped me to improve my English accent. Moreover,I’ve thought and imagined a creative logo and slogan via my potential and interests for this work. In the end, it would be correct to say that we have learned to change our outlook on the world. I feel lucky to be in that project.

Ulvi Maharramov, Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher: Arzu Çalık Seydim, İstanbul, Turkey
  • I am very grateful to my counselor teacher, friends and stakeholders from other countries for being involved in this project. We have better understood and emphasized the importance of democracy in our lives. Together we produced great outputs such as designing the flag of democracy, the project logo and slogan, and singing the song. I had the chance to improve my knowledge and skills. I would like to join a new eTwinning project again.
Seval Maden, Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher: Arzu Çalık Seydim, Istanbul Turkey
  • eTwining has taught us to be disciplined, for example, etwinning web site required us to upload something into the system at a certain time. This project taught us to take responsibility and fulfill that responsibility and also taught research and interpretation and constructive criticism, and taught us to push our horizon and improve ourselves. This project took out aspects of democracy that we didn't know and he made us think about how we should improve our democracy in the future and how we can implement it.
Democracy is important or even very important in our lives. We research a lot about Democracy. In the end of research we have learned to be more democratic. With that project we understood that democracy is as vital as the breathing in our lives.
Aslı Vatansever, Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher : Arzu Çalık Seydim, İstanbul, Turkey
  • This Etwining project gave a different perspective to democracy and taught us to take responsibility. We made new friendship. We spent time together. We interacted together. We remembered once again that democracy has an important place in our lives. We had a live video chat about democracy . It was a common work. My group’s topic was equality and this project reminded us the importance of equality as democracy. it was very clear that it should be the main basis of our lives.By using web2tools; I created a poster. It has expanded our horizon and enabled us to develop ideas. My friend developed a slogan and translated it into video. We debated together and knew different characters. We interviewed and broke our own walls. He taught us to be compatible with the group work. I think the most important thing is that we have done this project with participants from different countries and discuss democracy with them. I'm happy to participate in this project.
Bahar Cengizoğlu, Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher : Arzu Çalık Seydim, İstanbul, Turkey
  • In this eTwinning project we obtained new and better points of views in democracy. I learnt that democracy is more important than how it looks and I realized that we should value democracy more. We discussed about democracy and found what is right and what is wrong. We created great friendships even from other schools. I've learned to use video programs more detailed. It was really cool to be in this project.

Analysis Of The Story of The Representetive Democracy

  • What do you think about this kind of democracy? Please write here.

In a true democratic country every single citizen should be able to vote and have an effect on their country. The public should know what is happening in their country and be able to change the parliament's decisions. People often know better when something is wrong and in need of change. In these kinds of situations the parliament should listen to the public opinion. Like what happened in Turkey, Tunceli, where they insisted the public transportation should be free. When the city hall finally gave in and did what the people asked the people were happy. And continued to elect the governers who that does listen to them. So, a true democracy is beneficial to every party who takes place.

Tolga KAVUNCU - Turkish Student - Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School, Group 1, Teacher : Fatma BOZTEPE

In direct democracy we are living the regime as it requires to be. We can be sure that people are accually active about the decisions in their country. For example, in our school there was a propper uniform but as students we wanted to change it. So, we organized a poll. Democracy is not only about referandums. Public must be aware of everything and should be in charge in every decision. That's why direct democracy is a better way to rule and to be ruled.
Mira METİN - Turkish Student - Atatürk Anatolian High School, Group:1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
we all know all countries should be governed by democracy. but in some countries that are governed by democracy, we saw that democracy is not a thing for people’s life. democracy should not remain as a mere form of governance. at this point, participatory democracy comes into play. participatory democracy is the type of democracy in which every human being exists in the decision. An example of this: in Ankara, Turkey, an art center will be open with a decision given with the participation of the public.
Zeynep Serra Akkaya -Turkish Student- Besiktas Ataturk Anatolian High School, Group:1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
Most of the people think that democracy is important. It really is, but there isn't just one type of it. We are familiar with representative democracy. This process involves an electorate selecting and voting on political candidates and political parties. Citizens entrust their elected leaders to act in accordance to how they wish to be represented. But on the other hand, the participatory democracy (also known as direct democracy) puts policy responsibilities directly in the hands of the citizenry. I believe that democracy is not enough for a good ruling. If people are voicless in the country where they live, democracy becomes meaningless.
Gizem Gümüşışık Turkish Student Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
we all have heard or seen democracy in our lifes but we usually dont know the types of democracy.the democracy we usually see and hear is representetive democracybut there are some other democracy types like participatory democracy and such.and ı think nearly all types of democracy is healthy for citizens and rulers becouse they can decide what they are going to do as a whole.
Bedirhan Efe Akkuş - Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School Group 1, Teacher: Fatma Boztepe
In Switzerland, the federal authorities are headquartered in Bern and 26 Canton Federal Republic. It is a country that has adopted direct democracy, one of the rare systems in the world.Direct democracy is the type of democracy that the people use in themselves and directly. In Switzerland, four referenda are held annually on municipal, cantonal and federal issues.Direct democracy has advantages such as public support, living in harmony, social participation, sensitivity and empowerment. The referendum system in Switzerland is one of the most important forces controlling the parliament and the elite. It has been observed that this system strengthens the link between the state and society.
EFL/ PREPARED BY ELİFSUDE GEVİKLER /Teacher : EDA EKŞİOĞLU
People from around the world wonder how it feels to be a Swiss and why Swiss's should be proud to be a Swiss.Well the answer is simple; it's the sense of freedom. Living in a democratic society has allowed us to gain freedom and power in our country today. Democracy as a political system has allowed us to choose our representatives and hold them accountable for our protection and interest.
Ulvi Maharramov/Etiler Anatolian High School/Teacher: Arzu Çalık Seydim
Democracy is where happiness is. The best example for this is Switzerland. The people there are living in harmony because the laws are being applied perfectly.
In 6 years the population grew up just 1 million. You can see the united power of the Swiss from this example.
I wish we could govern our people better than Switzerland.
Ensar Raşid Kocagöz / Etiler Anatolian High School /
    Teacher: Arzu Çalık Seydim
Switzerland is one of the most peaceful countries in the history. Switzerland passed two world wars but not even a single bullet got inside the country. Imagine the peace and the perfect government in there. They have a wonderful system. But I believe that we can create better laws even better than Switzerland.
Aslı Vatansever / Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher : Arzu Çalık Seydim

Happy people show that democracy is well managed there, just as in Switzerland. I understand that Switzerland is a very well established country. This makes is very peacefull place. The peace environment seams to have increased the welfare of its people. I think I might consider going to Switzerland in the future.
Bahar Cengizoğlu / Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher : Arzu Çalık Seydim

Switzerland is a country with systematic democracy. This makes people happier. We can explain that like this; they do not have much trouble in the state affairs, they are directing themselves to other activities. This directly affects their development. Switzerland is a country that will soon be eye-catching on the world. İt is very systematic and has overcome many (political) problems. I believe that if we  have sustainable and systematic democracy in our country, we will have a voice in the world.
Egemen Yıldız / Etiler Anatolian High School / Teacher : Arzu Çalık Seydim

Direct democracy is also called as "pure democracy" and involves having the citizens as individuals vote on issues instead of elected representatives.I think by this type of democracy  community can know more about politics.
Elif Mumcu/Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School/Group:2/Teacher:İnayet Çalşkan
In my opinion, the citizens should be able to make their opinions reach to the government directly. Direct democracy gives them the opportunity to do that and that's why I support it.
Emir İkiz/Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School/Group:2/Teacher:İnayet Çalşkan
